Music

Future performers, composers, music technologists, music historians and creative practitioners prepare to graduate.

Students on Music programmes at Edinburgh College of Art can choose either one of or a combination of a portfolio of compositions, creative practice project, dissertation, final recital, or a music technology project as part of their graduation work.

After covering courses that introduce a range of topics and skills throughout their studies, final year students are encouraged to explore new ideas in an independent but supervised body of work.

A special project, InterConnect, will culminate with a performance during the 2019 Degree Show in the ECA Main Building's West Court. The project sees seven final-year BMus Composition students working alongside Scottish Chamber Orchestra musicians to workshop and rehearse new pieces written especially for the ensemble. In addition, students will be performing a series of recitals, also taking place in the West Court during the Degree Show.
